20 Months

Carsyn is such a doll and so full of life!  She loves it when mommy gives her airplane rides and she constantly tries to copy her big brother Ryland.  Those two mimic each other constantly; drinking at the same time, eating the same foods, racing around the house together, sharing mommy's lap...sometimes it's hard to keep up with them!  Carsyn is also a cuddle bug and I adore her for it.  She loves to give hugs and kisses, sit in your lap and just be near you.  Some of her favorite things to say are: cheese, bubbles, hi, waves and says 'bye-bye', if something falls she says 'oh no' and tries to clean it up and of course 'ow!'.  She's also an avid lover of her stuffed animals.  Right now her favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast and she loves bunnies and birds and tries to catch them when she sees them.  We haven't started potty training yet but I think she's close, she doesn't like having a poopy diaper and will come tell us when she has a BM.  She'll pat her bottom and say 'poop'. When we ask her if she needs a diaper she will nod her head yes and start walking to the changing table.  :)

We started swim lessons in June, the first 2 weeks we were signed up with the Pf rec center.  Then we went to a birthday party and saw how well my SIL's kids could swim (the same age as our kids) and asked what they were doing, ISR lessons (infant swim rescue).  So we signed the kids up right away and managed to start the following week.  In just 5 days they have made huge improvements in their swimming abilities.  Definitely worth it!

This month was full of fun things:  Playing on the patio at Sam's Boat, a Safari Champs outing, Father's day lunch, playing in the rain and at the neighborhood splash pad, and of course an awesome birthday party at Kiddie Acres.  Heck we even went to Sea World to round out the month!  This time I bought Ryland some fish to feed the sea lions...and I totally forgot to take a picture!  Bad mommy.  Anyways, the kids had a blast and especially loved the kiddie water park.  During our Sea World trip it rained on us, so my phone was put away to avoid water damage, hence some missing pictures.

I realized about a month ago that we needed to set up a dentist appointment for Carsyn.  When the dentist called to confirm Ry's appointment this month, we scheduled her at the same time.  Ry's checkup was in the general room with me while the hubby and Carsyn went to a private room for her very first cleaning.  The dentist said everything looked great and that she possibly had some more teeth emerging as her gums were swollen, I think it might be her canines.  Overall she scored a B+ and Ry got an A.

This month we went to Ry's soccer closing ceremonies, which was really just a big celebration at the soccer fields.  They had tons of jump houses, a train and a petting zoo!  The littles with insane with the petting zoo!  Carsyn especially loved the bunnies and was not happy unless one was in her lap.  Ry had a ball catching all the animals he could, every time the hubby and I turned around he had a different bird/bunny/pig in hand!  That was the perfect way to end a Friday and wear those kids out for bed.  ;)

We love bunnies
The kids love the help out in the yard, or really just be outside.  One weekend us girls decided to relax on the back porch and watch the boys at work.  I thoroughly enjoyed it, and from the picture below I think Carsyn did as well.

During the month of May we also attended several birthday parties.  One of them was at the Main Event bowling alley, which was a first for the littles!   Ry was so excited it was hard for him to wait his turn, and he was a great helper when it was Carsyn's turn.  I loved the dino bowling aids.  We even hit up the arcades after cake and ice cream.  Those kids were so enthralled with all the lights that it was tough to drag them away when it was time to go.

We've been to Safari Champs before, but this time Carsyn was able to do a lot more on her own.  While Ry was off playing with his daycare friends for a bday party, Carsyn was off on her own adventures.  She easily mastered the toddler section and then moved onto the main playscapes.  I of course had to follow her around but she really did it all on her own.  She loved keeping up with the big kids, sliding down the slides and exploring.

I think she's tired...

Next month (June) we start 2 months of swim lessons for both kids.  I can't wait to see how Carsyn does, of course one of us has to be in the water with her, most likely me.  3x's a week for 2 months will be quite the workout.  At least I know Ry is excited for the classes, he actually asked me a few weeks ago when swimming would start again.  Fingers crossed!

Soccer and School Pictures

What can I say, I'm a sucker for pictures.  I just wish I knew where to put them all!  Or had a better filing/display system.

Ry played soccer for the first time this spring, that was a learning experience.  Below are his Spring 2015 pictures.

Also on 3/16 Ry and Carsy had new school photos taken.  They are just so stinkin' cute!  Unfortunately the pictures of them taken together didn't turn out so well...I let those go.

Ry's pre-K ready!

Our little boy is registered for Pre-K!!!  We're super excited for Ry to start school in September.

In anticipation of this grueling task I spent months (Sept of 2014, yes really) researching all the paperwork.  I wanted to make sure we had all the info and dates so that we wouldn't be caught unaware.  About a month before the registration date I printed off all required paperwork and consolidated it in a top secret file.  My hubby was locked and loaded, coffee in hand, eagerly awaiting and prepped for battle.  He stood outside in the blistering cold (60 degrees) Tuesday morning for hours (6:15am-7:30am) waiting for the registrars doors to open so he could register our little boy for pre-K, he was #16 in line and they only had 22 spots to fill!  Thankfully they opened the doors early, the entire appliance process took over an hour and had to be filled out on-site.  When the smoke cleared, Ry was #12 on the list, he was IN!  Big boy on campus.  :)

Ready to tackle life

This guy!

18 Months

Our little lady is 1.5 yrs old!!  I can't believe Carsyn is 18 months young already, how time flies. At her her 18 month checkup she was still in the 25% for weight at 22 lbs and 10 oz, height just over 50% at 32" and head around 80% at 47.9cm.  As we missed her 15 month checkup (just like Ry) she had to catch up on some shots and received 3 total.  The Dr is happy with her progress, except for her speech.  At this point she should be saying at least 10 words.  The only words we've really heard are 'mama' and 'ouch', the rest is just baby babble.  Carsy understands everything we say though, she will even nod her head yes or shake it back and forth for no when we ask her questions.  When it's time for bed she waves bye bye and gives kisses and if you ask her if she needs a diaper she'll nod her head, pat her backside and head for the changing table.  ;)  She's a smart cookie, once she decides to speak I bet it will be in full sentences!  Carsy also recently moved up to the next classroom at daycare.  Our little girl is growing up!

As Easter was this month the kids experienced tons of egg hunts and sugar rushes.  Thankfully the candy inhaling only lasted a couple days before they forgot about their stashes.  The day before Easter we went to Opa and Juju's house for an eggs Benedict breakfast and a backyard egg hunt.  Carsy and Ry had a blast, they loved playing with those eggs and discovering the goodies within.  Carsyn especially liked her solid chocolate bunny.

Carsy was so cute when she woke up Easter morning and saw her basket (the bunny on the right).  She immediately grabbed it and started hugging/loving on it.  She thought it was a toy!  All her Easter goodies fell out of it, but she didn't mind.  We also hid some eggs around the house for them to find.

Later that day we went over to a friends house for an Easter celebration.  They had a HUGE Easter egg hunt around the entire house, tons of food and cascarones.  This was our first time participating in the confetti egg fun.

Car-Car loves food, most of the time she'll out eat her brother.  Lately bananas have been a big one for her, she's constantly wanting them and she will eat the entire thing!  I've actually been able to get her to make monkey noises while holding her banana.  :snicker:

Carsy is definitely an outside kid.  She loves taking walks in her wagon, going to the park and playing in the water...except for sprinklers, she currently HATES getting wet via a sprinkler.  I'm not sure why as this girl loves the shower...kinda the same thing right???  Car-Car is pretty brave, she'll even climb up rock walls by herself!  She also likes to taunt you when she reaches the top, leaning over like she might fall off and then smiling and laughing at you when she sees your worried face.  Not to mention Carsy loves her brother and tries to do everything he does, and she's successful most of the time!  She's such a sweet, smart, loving, adorable crazy girl!  <3
