Ry's pre-K ready!

Our little boy is registered for Pre-K!!!  We're super excited for Ry to start school in September.

In anticipation of this grueling task I spent months (Sept of 2014, yes really) researching all the paperwork.  I wanted to make sure we had all the info and dates so that we wouldn't be caught unaware.  About a month before the registration date I printed off all required paperwork and consolidated it in a top secret file.  My hubby was locked and loaded, coffee in hand, eagerly awaiting and prepped for battle.  He stood outside in the blistering cold (60 degrees) Tuesday morning for hours (6:15am-7:30am) waiting for the registrars doors to open so he could register our little boy for pre-K, he was #16 in line and they only had 22 spots to fill!  Thankfully they opened the doors early, the entire appliance process took over an hour and had to be filled out on-site.  When the smoke cleared, Ry was #12 on the list, he was IN!  Big boy on campus.  :)

18 Months

Our little lady is 1.5 yrs old!!  I can't believe Carsyn is 18 months young already, how time flies. At her her 18 month checkup she was still in the 25% for weight at 22 lbs and 10 oz, height just over 50% at 32" and head around 80% at 47.9cm.  As we missed her 15 month checkup (just like Ry) she had to catch up on some shots and received 3 total.  The Dr is happy with her progress, except for her speech.  At this point she should be saying at least 10 words.  The only words we've really heard are 'mama' and 'ouch', the rest is just baby babble.  Carsy understands everything we say though, she will even nod her head yes or shake it back and forth for no when we ask her questions.  When it's time for bed she waves bye bye and gives kisses and if you ask her if she needs a diaper she'll nod her head, pat her backside and head for the changing table.  ;)  She's a smart cookie, once she decides to speak I bet it will be in full sentences!  Carsy also recently moved up to the next classroom at daycare.  Our little girl is growing up!

As Easter was this month the kids experienced tons of egg hunts and sugar rushes.  Thankfully the candy inhaling only lasted a couple days before they forgot about their stashes.  The day before Easter we went to Opa and Juju's house for an eggs Benedict breakfast and a backyard egg hunt.  Carsy and Ry had a blast, they loved playing with those eggs and discovering the goodies within.  Carsyn especially liked her solid chocolate bunny.

Carsy was so cute when she woke up Easter morning and saw her basket (the bunny on the right).  She immediately grabbed it and started hugging/loving on it.  She thought it was a toy!  All her Easter goodies fell out of it, but she didn't mind.  We also hid some eggs around the house for them to find.

Later that day we went over to a friends house for an Easter celebration.  They had a HUGE Easter egg hunt around the entire house, tons of food and cascarones.  This was our first time participating in the confetti egg fun.

Car-Car loves food, most of the time she'll out eat her brother.  Lately bananas have been a big one for her, she's constantly wanting them and she will eat the entire thing!  I've actually been able to get her to make monkey noises while holding her banana.  :snicker:

Carsy is definitely an outside kid.  She loves taking walks in her wagon, going to the park and playing in the water...except for sprinklers, she currently HATES getting wet via a sprinkler.  I'm not sure why as this girl loves the shower...kinda the same thing right???  Car-Car is pretty brave, she'll even climb up rock walls by herself!  She also likes to taunt you when she reaches the top, leaning over like she might fall off and then smiling and laughing at you when she sees your worried face.  Not to mention Carsy loves her brother and tries to do everything he does, and she's successful most of the time!  She's such a sweet, smart, loving, adorable crazy girl!  <3

Ryland's 4th Birthday Party - Dinosaurs!

Ry's 4th birthday was of epic proportions!  We decided to have his party at the Dino Park; which came complete with giant dinos, sand fossil pits, playscapes and a scavenger hunt.  Words can not describe how ecstatic Ry was to celebrate with friends, family and prehistoric creatures.  The entire day he was running around with a huge smile on his face, dragging his friends from place to place to show them the dinosaurs.

Below is a snap shot of his birthday evite.-

STOMP!  ROAR!
Ryland is turning FOUR!

It's a prehistoric adventure you won't want to miss.
Let's party with a stegosaurus, velociraptor and even a t-rex!

Please RSVP to the excavation supervisors - Prehistoric parents Christina and Jonathan.

  • We will go on a scavenger hunt at 11:15 am (please try and arrive by 11am).
  • Pizza and drinks will be provided for lunch around noon (12pm), after the scavenger hunt.
  • Followed by cake and playtime (fossil dig, playgrounds, fun!)
  • We have tables reserved from 10:30-1:30pm (under the pavilion), everyone is welcome to stay and play at the park as long as you want!

The morning started out early with Ry waking us up at 6:30 in the morning.  As he came downstairs he immediately saw the balloons by the fireplace and then his gift.  He loved everything; the dino balloons, the construction puzzle, the enormous plush dragon and the bubble wrap.  What kid doesn't love bubble wrap??  Check out our fancy wrapping skills too...there's a nice xmas green bow right on top of the cardboard box.  :P

Happy boy - yes those are xmas pj's in April...

After his gifts we ate a quick breakfast and then daddy and Ry were out the door for Ry's soccer game at 8:30am!  I stayed home with Carsyn so we could finish getting ready for the party.  As soon as daddy and Ry returned, we immediately had to jump back in the car and head to the Dino Park.  Unfortunately the T-Rex balloon we purchased was defective and died a horrible and deflated death.  Thankfully Opa and Juju were there to take it back to Party City for a free replacement (24 warranty, I made sure to check on that when I purchased the balloons).  Saved!

We arrived at the park at 10:45 and began setting up under the pavilion, guests began to arrive by 11am.  Our location was perfect, everything was right by the tables and there were tons of trees for shade.  Our guests played on the playscapes until every arrived for the scavenger hunt.  On the hunt we saw some awesome dinosaurs, eggs and fossils.  The kids were so excited they were ran from spot to spot trying to be the first to discover a new creature.  After the hunt the kids played to their hearts content with the fossil sand pits and playscapes.  Double Daves pizza arrived right at noon and we followed it up with birthday cake.  The favors were a big hit with the kids as well, they loved those masks!

Birthday boy and mommy - about to open gifts
The kids had a blast and thankfully the weather held out as it was supposed to be storming the entire day.  I asked Ry what he wanted for his birthday and he said sugar and candles.  I think we surpassed  his expectations.  :)   We waited until we were back at home to open gifts, Ry was super excited with everything he received.  A big thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated Ryland's 4th birthday with us.
