22 Months

Growing leaps and bounds!  We really noticed that Carsyn has been talking a lot more this past month.  She's stringing together 3-4 words now.  The other day she said "Ry-Ry where are you?".  Some of her favorite words are 'paci', 'cereal' and of course 'mama'.  Her favorite movie is Wreck-It-Ralph and it must be watched at least 2x's a day on weekends, and every night during the week.  She loves her big brother Ry and must copy him in all things; such as climbing walls & fences, eating the same snacks and playing with dinosaurs.  I love that she's such a tom boy.  :)  This girl's got spunk, character, smarts and will bust a move to music at any time. My tiny dancer.

At the beginning of August we took the kids on their first airplane ride to Cincinnati to visit my brother's family (Uncle Steve & Aunt Lil C, Mason & Harper) and meet the newest addition to their family, baby Harper.  The kids had a blast and flying didn't phase them one bit.  It was great to visit with family and check out the local zoo and aquarium!

This month we upgraded Carsyn's room from a crib to a full sized bed!  It took a couple nights for her to adjust and sleep through the night in her new bed, but it was totally worth it to be done with that crib.  It still takes a while to put her down because she wants you to lay there with her until she falls asleep, which sometimes takes a good hour!  Poor daddy gets stuck with this routine the majority of the time as Ry-Ry now wants mommy to take him to bed.  All in all a successful transition.  Next up is potty training, we still haven't mustered up the energy to tackle that new adventure.

Lots of changes for the little lady (and family) this month.  The last of Carsy's teeth finally broke through, all 4 canines at once!  That made for a rough couple of nights and lots of Tylenol.  Then we took a trip to San Marcos to visit Bro-Bro's new college apartment and stock up his fridge.  The littles got a nice taste of college life.  And finally Ry-Ry started pre-K in a new school, so Carsy is on her own now at daycare and at Opa & Juju's.  They are growing up way too fast!

Towards the end of the month we bought the kids a new toy, a bike trailer!  I've been wanting a bike trailer for a while now to cart the kids around, I can also use it to take Ry to pre-K as its only 1 mile away from our house.  The kids LOVE it, especially when mommy goes fast.  They rode in it all weekend long, mommy took them out in the morning and we hit up all the parks in the neighborhood.  Tons of fun for the kids, lots of exercise for mommy.

8 Months

8 Months Young - 6/28/2014

Our little girl is 8 months young and curious as a cat!  We weighed her at 17.3 lbs, but then a few days later she went to the Dr with a sinus infection and weighed 17 lbs...go fig.  Carsyn is soooo close to crawling.  She will get up on 3 limbs and usually rests/drags/sits on the 4th limb (back leg).  She'll move her arms forward as well as one knee, but then will either go back to a sitting position or fall down.  We're just waiting for the last leg to move!  She will also grab a hold of the chairs or the ottoman and kinda peer over, almost pulling up but not quite all the way.  Again soooo close!

Carsyn still doesn't have any teeth but that doesn't stop her from eating real food.  She will eat the squeeze bag foods (like applesauce and other mixes) but she refuses normal baby food in the jars.  She loves her yogurt melts, crunchies, puffs, chicken/turkey sticks, watermelon and even tries to go after our food.  We decided while we were at the beach we would feed her our food.  SHE LOVED IT!  Car-Car went to town on scrambled eggs, sausage, hot dogs, donut sticks, ice-cream, french fries, rice, etc.  Whatever we gave her (in small bites of course) she consumed without hesitation.  If she sees you eating something, she will look you straight in the eye and grunt.  Kinda like she's saying "I want that!".  And you better share or we have a very unhappy baby.  ;)  Whenever she can get her hands on a cup she'll drink from it like a big girl.  She can also sip from a straw which makes it much easier.

June was a very busy month.  Godparents Steve and Christina came to visit with their new baby Mason.  Ryland and Carsyn finally got to meet their cousin!  We had extended family pictures taken (coming soon) and then we went to Port A the last week in June.  Carsy wasn't sure what to make of all that sand and the ocean, but she hung in there!  Mostly she played with toys under the pop up, played with Mason and ate food.

Carsyn is very active, curious and vocal.  She loves playing with the tablet, mommy's phone, Ry's toys (while he's playing with them) or the TV remote.  Carsy's constantly looking around and exploring, she's very aware of her surroundings.  She also loves to cuddle and touch your face, arm, neck.  And this little lady can jabber!  We love her giggles, squeals of delight and grunts.  Right now Carsyn is all about mommy and is happy as a clam when I tote her around.  Of course that means Ry is all about mommy as well, it's a constant battle for mommy's lap!  :love:

How I Look -  HUGE.  My belly really sticks out, I forget how big I am until I see my profile.

Weight :  +27 lbs.  

How I Feel - Feet and hands the same.  My finger tips are always numb and I'm very stiff when I get up after sitting for a while.  Plus now my feet tingle sometimes, strange new sensation.

Symptoms - Feeling tons of pressure and uncomfortable tightness.

Cravings - Fruits, sweets, milk & chocolate milk, and popsicles (don't tell Ry!).

Exercise - What exercise?  I did squeeze in a TON of walking this weekend when we went to San Antonio for a babymoon.  ;)

What I'm Looking Forward To - 3 more weeks and time away from work.

What I'm Not Looking Forward To - All the last minute stuff I still need to do before baby arrives!

Odds & Ends - My Dr's appointment this week was fairly boring.  Baby is great, heartbeat is 142 bpm, my Group B strep culture was negative and there was no change in dilation or anything.  That's right, still holding steady from last week.  My guess is baby girl is gonna stick it out until D-day.  And yes, I still need to pack my hospital bag.  :P

This past weekend we went to San Antonio for a babymoon.  We mostly stuck to the river walk and places within driving distance as it was hard on me to walk long distances.  We hit up several eateries and bars on the river walk, checked out Pearl and the farmer's market and even ate dinner at the restaurant where my hubby proposed.  All in all a great weekend.

Ry's adventures and updates

Ry has been a busy little bee.  He's grown so much and is talking up a storm (at least to us).  He's a great parrot, repeating everything you say to him.  Ry's also very sweet, dishing out hugs and kisses.  If you get hurt or he accidentally steps on a toy, he'll say "I'm sorry" and will kiss it to make it feel better.  When he gets hurt he always comes running to mommy to 'kiss' his boo-boos.  Wouldn't it be great if kisses fixed everything!?

We've been keeping him pretty busy this summer with the pool, Austin Steam Train ride, Round Rock Express Game, festivals, parties and a beach trip!  Check out some of the photos below.
